Goals

Personally I find the only way I can exercise effectively is to have firm goals planned out. It worked to get me to Canberra, with having to get up at 345am before I start work at 6am...

My goals are :-

People often ask "what time did you complete your race?". Those people have no idea as to the real reason that 99% of people do these things. It's not about beating others its about beating yourself, pushing yourself, acknowledging that no matter what pain you feel in life you will not give up... I will keep running even if I don't make the cutoff, its not about the medal at the end.

This is why during a triathlon, especially during either of the Ironman events you will see 'competitors" slow down or even stop to encourage people to keep going. Blown a tire and used your last one? I've seen people given spares by total strangers....
